In a bold move to enhance its academic standing, Prof Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) University (PRSU) has introduced significant changes to its admission policy.

Starting from the upcoming academic session (2023-24), PRSU will implement a centralized admission process for all professional courses offered by the university’s main campus and its affiliated colleges. This encompasses both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses, as confirmed by university officials.

The online application process for these courses is slated to commence next month.

PRSU is gearing up to launch an array of new professional courses in the coming academic session, including a five-year Integrated LLB course, BCA, and MCA, in addition to the existing BEd and MEd programs.

Prof Akhilesh Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the university, stated, “While we are still contemplating the admission guidelines for the upcoming academic session, we can confirm that the minimum eligibility criteria, in terms of marks obtained in intermediate (for UG courses) and undergraduate courses (for PG courses), will not be lower than those followed last year.”

According to last year’s guidelines, approved by the university’s Academic Council (AC) and Executive Council (EC), UG course admission required a minimum of 40% marks in intermediate for general and OBC candidates, while SC/ST candidates needed a minimum of 35% marks.

For PG courses, students must meet a predetermined minimum marks criterion in their graduation. General and OBC candidates must score at least 50% marks for admission to professional courses, while SC/ST candidates require a minimum of 45% marks.

Avinash Kumar Srivastava, a senior faculty member of the Philosophy department at the university, said, “Admission to professional courses in PRSU and affiliated colleges will be conducted through a joint entrance test. This includes LLB three-year, LLB five-year, BBA, BCA, BSc (agriculture), MSc (agriculture), MEd, BPEd, MEd, BLib, and MLib courses.”

In the upcoming session, qualifying marks for admission to UG and PG courses will be established as the university prepares to release detailed admission guidelines shortly.

Established in 2016, Professor Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) State University, formerly known as Allahabad State University, is one of Uttar Pradesh’s newest state universities. With 669 affiliated colleges spanning Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Fatehpur, and Pratapgarh districts, the university currently serves approximately 4.5 lakh students.
