The Institution of Mumbai, also known as Mumbai University (MU), is a Maharashtra-based collegiate public state university. 1. Bachelor of Arts (B.A)

Eligibility:

A candidate for being eligible for admission to the three-year integrated course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Arts must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII)

examination conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education with the following subjects:-

  • English
  • Any one of the Modern Indian Languages or Modern Foreign Languages or any classical Language or Information Technology.
  • Any four subjects carrying 100 marks each

2. B.A. Programme in Film, Television and New Media Production (C.B.S.G.S.)

Eligibility:

Candidates for entry to a BA (Film, Television & New Media Production) three-year integrated course must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate examination conducted by different divisional boards of the State Maharashtra Secondary and Higher Education Board or examinations from another university or B or other university.

  • A candidate is only eligible to receive the degree if the candidate undergoes a prescribed study course at a university affiliate for a period not less than three academic years and
  • passes exams in core and experimental papers for all six semesters receiving 120 credits, letter grade at least E or higher (i.e. O/A/B/C/D/E).

3. Five Years Integrated Programme (B.A. and M.A.) degree course in Russian

Eligibility:

To enter the first year of the five year Russian integrated programme (12th standard of the Maharashtra State Board or equivalent exam), pass 50 percent in HSC.

4. Five Year Integrated (B.A. and M.A.) degree course in German

Eligibility:

Students who choose the integrated five-year course in German studies must have passed the German language in the 12th standard by 45 percent in the HSC or any other equivalent exam.

5. Bachelor’s Degree in Library & Information Science (B.L.I.Sc.)

Eligibility:

The candidate wishing to receive a bachelor’s in Library and Information Science has taken the University of Mumbai’s Degree Examination or a University which has been recognised by this University. For the certificate of eligibility/migrant, a graduate of other universities seeking department entry must apply to the registrar of this university.

Eligibility:

7. Bachelor of Mass Media

Eligibility:

To be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Mass Media degree programme, a candidate must have passed the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education’s XIIth Std. Examination or its equivalent in the Science, Arts, or Commerce Stream. No college shall administer any type of entrance exam, and admissions will be made only on the basis of merit, in accordance with Maharashtra’s reservation policy.

8. Bachelor In Heritage Management (B.H.M.)

Eligibility:

To be eligible for admission to the Degree Course in B.H.M., a candidate must have completed the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education’s XIIth Std examination or its equivalent and received not less than 45 percent in aggregate on the first attempt. Candidates in the fields of commerce, science, and the arts are welcome to apply. Graduate students applying for this degree will be evaluated based on the same percentile considerations as described above.

9. Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.)

Eligibility:

Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination administered by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education to be eligible for admission to the three-year degree programme leading to a Bachelor of Commerce.

Duration: 3 years

10. Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance)

Eligibility:

A candidate must have completed XII std. to be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) degree programme. Examination of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent, with an aggregate score of not less than 45 percent (40 percent in the case of reserved category) on the first try.

11. Bachelor of Commerce (Banking & Insurance)

Eligibility:

To be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (Banking and Insurance) degree programme, a candidate must have passed the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune, XII std. Examination or its equivalent with a minimum of 45 percent aggregate (40 percent for reserved category candidates) in one sitting. Every student accepted into a degree programme at one of the university’s affiliated colleges must register with the university.

12. Bachelor of Commerce (Financial Market) 

Eligibility:

To be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (Financial Markets) degree programme, a candidate must have passed the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education XIIstd. examination or its equivalent with a cumulative score of not less than 45 percent (40 percent in the case of reserved category) in one sitting.

13. Bachelor of Management Studies (B.M.S.) 

Eligibility:

To be eligible for admission to the B.M.S. Degree Course, a candidate must have passed the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education’s H.S.C. Examination or its equivalent examination, or a Diploma in any Engineering branch with a two-year or three-year duration after S.S.C. conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education or its equivalent examination with a minimum score of 60%. (in one attempt)

14. Master of Commerce (M.Com.)

Eligibility:

A learner must have passed the examination for the degree of Bachelor of Commerce or the degree B.Com. or the other Semester based Programmes i.e. Bachelor of Commerce (Banking & Insurance) or Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) or Bachelor of Commerce (Financial Markets) or Bachelor of Management St.

15. Master of Commerce M.Com. (E-Commerce)

Eligibility:

To be eligible for admission to the Master of E-Commerce Degree Program, a candidate must have taken the U.G.C.-accredited B.Com. examination at this university or any other recognised university and received at least 50% in the aggregate on the first attempt (45 percent in case of reserved category).

16. Master of Management Studies (M.M.S.)

Eligibility:

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Management Studies (M.M.S.) programme, a candidate must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities in New Delhi, with a minimum of 45 percent in aggregate and 40 percent in the case of backward class candidates from Maharashtra only.

Eligibility:

A candidate must have passed the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education’s Higher Secondary School Certificate examination (Std. XII) with the following subjects or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto to be eligible for admission to the First Year B.Sc. examination in Home Science.

  • English 
  • Any one of the Modern Indian or Modern Foreign Languages OR a Classical Language (Higher or Lower Level) OR Information Technology OR any other subject as the Board may prescribe from time to time.

Eligibility:

A candidate must have passed the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education’s Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (Std. XII) in Science stream with Mathematics and Statistics as one of the subjects or its equivalent in order to be eligible for admission to the three-year integrated course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.).

20. Bachelor of Science (Information Technology) B.Sc. (I.T.)

Eligibility:

To be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Science-Information Technology degree programme, a candidate must have passed the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education’s XII standard examination or its equivalent with Mathematic and Statistics as one of the subjects and have received not less than 45 percent in aggregate for open category and 40 percent in aggregate for reserved category.

21. B.Sc. (Bio-Technology) 

Eligibility:

Candidates must have passed the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education’s Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (Std.XII) in Science or its equivalent in Science stream to be eligible for admission to the three-year Integrated course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.). Admission will be on the basis of merit, with the following priority order:

  • H.S.C. or similar aggregate marks.
  • Group of Aggregate Marks in Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology).
  • Biology and Chemistry grades.

22. B.Sc.(Hospitality Studies) degree course 

Eligibility:

To be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Science (Hospitality Studies) Degree Course, a candidate must have passed the XII Standard Examination in any discipline/stream of any state Board for Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent from India or abroad and obtained not less than 45 percent marks in aggregate (44.5 percent to 44.99 percent) may be rounded to 45 percent (In case of Reserved Category 40 percent marks in aggregate).

23. Bachelor of Science (Nautical Sciences) 

Eligibility:

To be eligible for admission to the B.Sc. (Nautical Sciences) Degree Course, a candidate must be single and have passed the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Education’s Higher Secondary School Certificate (Standard XII) Examination, or an examination administered by any other body recognised as equivalent, with the following subjects: English, physics, chemistry, and mathematics.

24. Bachelor of Science (Aviation)

Eligibility:

To be eligible for admission to B.Sc. (Aviation), a candidate must have passed the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Education’s Higher Secondary School Certificate (Standard XII) examination. Pune or an examination from any other government-approved board that is considered equal, with English, Physics, and Mathematics as subjects.

Law

25. Bachelor of Law (LL.B.)

Eligibility:

A candidate must have passed/completed a Degree Examination in any Faculty of a recognised University or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 45 percent on the qualifying examination if there is no eligibility test and 40 percent on the qualifying examination if there is an eligibility test to be eligible for admission to the first semester of the three-year LL.B. Degree Course. For candidates belonging to the SC/ST categories, the aforesaid percentage of marks will be relaxed by 5%.

26. Master of Law (LL.M.)

Eligibility:

A Second Class LL.B. degree achieved at one and the same sitting of this University or a degree recognised as equivalent thereto is the minimum qualification for a candidate of general category filing an application for admission to the LL.M. degree course. Candidates from the reserved category, on the other hand, may apply to the L.L.M. degree programme with a pass grade.

27. Master of Law By Research (LL.M.) 

Eligibility:

Any person who has passed the LL.B. degree examination (under three years/5 years course) of this University or any other university recognised as equivalent is eligible for admission to the LL.M. by Research programme.

Eligibility:

Eligibility:

A candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate, HSC (Std.XII) examination of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or the Central Board of Secondary Education (standard XII) examination outside the state of Maharashtra to be eligible for admission to the First Year Engineering of the Bachelor of Engineering ( B. Eligibility:

A candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Chemical Technology must show proof of passing the Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education’s Higher Secondary School Certificate examination with at least the first grade or first class in the following subjects: – English, any of the modern Indian or foreign languages, mathematics, physics, and chemistry.

35. Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences (B.Pharm. Sci.)

Eligibility:

Candidate must be an Indian national who has passed the HSC (Std. XII) examination of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics AND obtained at least 50% marks, i.e. 150 marks out of 300 marks in the respective subjects (maximum of marks obtained in each subject).

Eligibility:
